I'm not sure if the BNP has as radical of actions as the KKK, but essentially, they oppose open immigration into Britain because they believe that it has made white British citizens the minority, and has taken their power away. Some see these as white supremacist views, so it is easy to see why Mackenzie's involvement could offend some people. I'll have to research the BNP more. Based on what you said, I suppose if I tried to turn the tables and pretend a top USA MX'er was to come out and say he was a member of the KKK or something of the sort, I'd probably be a bit upset about it...tough call there.

I totally agree with the point of view that off the bike politics should not affect his on the bike position and that he should not be discriminated against because of his political views. Every citizen has a right to their own political views. However, the BNP does have some very radical views regarding immigration that I personally do not agree with, and some people may be offended to know that their favorite rider supports these views. Nevertheless, he is a great rider, and I hope that his political views do not affect his performance on the track or his ability to find a ride in his future motocross career.

I see politics and riding as two separate topics. Does his party affiliation make him ride a bike faster or slower? No. Discrimination due to party affiliation is discrimination none the less. Does being black make Stewart a better or worse rider? Did Kawi or Yamaha have a problem with the color of his skin? In my personal opinion, his political affiliation has nothing to do with his riding, and if people can't put that aside then they need a reminder of what free will and democracy means.
