Question: how old are you, and what was your training or riding routine leading up to the double? I'm 55, with appx six hours training time per week off-season, and appx 10-12 hours during regular warm-weather season (I work a lot of hours per week). I'm wondering what I can reasonably expect to do at my "age" and with the hours I have available.

Re: My First Double Century

Thanks Cori. You definitely need to get a road bike! They are so much fun. Believe me, once you test ride one there is no way you will be able to resist the urge haha.

Re: My First Double Century

Thanks Tim! To tell you the truth, I never thought I would be doing rides this long at the beginning of this year. However, with the proper training a ride like this is definitely possible. I had a blast, can't wait to do it again.

Re: My First Double Century

Congrats! You're making me want a road bike even more. Maybe I need to go demo one from the shop when we get a nice weekend that I think I'll be able to use it most the day! *gulp* then I have a felling I'm *really* going to want one!

Re: My First Double Century

Holy Crap Mike, 200 miles is truly an athletic accomplishment for sure!
